Alan Lymbery Just Launched His Seneca Pacific Power Dory
Alan Lymbery just launched his 4.3M (14') Seneca Pacific Power Dory. He built it in Australia. Here's what he had to say about it.
Hi Jeff,
I just launched the Seneca I built for my son for fishing our inland rivers & lakes. Three years to build but we are away for 5 months each year and I only worked on
it afternoons. It does 26 mph with two of on board which I am quite happy with - my son is 6'-4" and built to match. I have incorporated a rope/anchor locker and a
storage locker/casting deck and floorboards as you can see. All in all we are pretty pleased with her. Weight over the weighbridge went 365 Kgs. – includes motor,
full tank of fuel and all legal safety requirements on board.
All the best.
Alan
If you notice, he sawed the frames out of 19 mm (3/4") ply instead of laminating them out of lumber as my drawings show. I think it came out great.

Boatbuilding Pictures
Please don't be embarrassed to send in photos of your projects. I get a lot of emails from people who tell me about their build but never send any pictures. I'd love to see them, as would all of the other people who are either building a boat or thinking about it. They need all the encouragement they can get.
I believe in offering you all the information you need to learn more about how to build a boat. That's why I offer free videos, free ebooks, and free reports. There's even some free plans available to insiders and some seminars I've delivered. To join, just click below:
