17' Texan Grand Banks Dory completed in Ireland

I just got this email and pictures from Jonathon Ryan in Ireland. Here's what he said:

Hi Jeff,

I completed a Texan Grand Banks Dory recently and I am just sending on a few photos. It varies from the plans in that I raised the level of the engine well and also built a stainless steel frame with a winch For raising and lowering the outboard engine. I find this feature very useful for launching and retrieving. The bow and stern have also been decked in with watertight bulkheads. This helps a lot with keeping water out of the boat when driving through larger waves. I also put runners [2x1] timber capped with aluminium flat section 40x3 to deal with any wear on slipways.

With all the small modifications I am very happy with the boats performance. The boat is used on the south coast of Ireland.

All the best,

I'd love to see them, as would all of the other people who are either building a boat or thinking about it. They need all the encouragement they can get.
