New Tillamook Pacific Dory Launched in Newfoundland

I just received this email and photos of a Newfoundland built in St. Johns, Newfoundland.

Hey Jeff,

My name is David and live in St. Johns, Newfoundland. I purchased the plans for the 17ft Tillamook dory back in spring of 2014. It was a slow start but I completed the boat in the spring, last year. I enjoyed every minute of construction, getting my father and brother over for the days that I needed help.

The dory is a great all around boat for pond and ocean. I have used the dory for the spring and fall northern cod food fishery, moose hunting and also participated in the annual common murr hunt in February 2016.

The Tillamook is an amazing boat that can carry very well, handles great, light, and travels great with a 30hp outboard engine. Thanks for providing me with the plans to build the tillamook, It has been a great pastime for me and my family.

Please don't be embarrassed to send in photos of your projects. I get a lot of emails from people who tell me about their build but never send any pictures. I'd love to see them, as would all of the other people who are either building a boat or thinking about it. They need all the encouragement they can get.
