Bill Smeaton's Recently Completed Carolinian Dory

Bill Smeaton just completed this beautiful Carolinian Carolina style dory. Here's what he wrote to me when he sent the pictures:

Dear Jeff,
Please see attached photo's of the 18 foot Caroninian Dory I recently completed. Project took 340 hrs to complete. Residing in southwestern Ontario finding water "soft enough" for maiden voyage in February is difficult so my wife and I will be trailering the boat to Homosassa FL. for her maiden voyage. Your plans complete with guide book were outstanding. Project was completed without any issue. I did substitute some epoxy on joints for gorrila adheasive and sheathed entire hull in 7 1/2 ounce fibre glass with epoxy. I double up the glass on all edges and corners. The only power tools used were a skill saw and a sander. I have powered the boat with a 20 hp tiller. I would love to have a carpenters certificate for my boat that I have named Jacques Yves after my childhood hero J. Y. Cousteau.
I will be sure to send more photos of us on the water when we are down south.
Warm regards,
Bill Smeaton

Boat Building Photos

Please don't be embarrassed to send in photos of your projects. I get a lot of emails from people who tell me about their build but never send any pictures. I'd love to see them, as would all of the other people who are either building a boat or thinking about it. They need all the encouragement they can get.

I believe in offering you all the information you need to learn more about how to build a boat. That's why I offer free videos, free ebooks, and free reports. There's even some free plans available to insiders and some seminars I've delivered. To join, just click below:
