Wye River Garvey with Jet Drive Launched in New York

Jason Thompson has been working on a Wye River with a jet pump and tunnel. He's building it in New York. He tested it over the 4th of July weekend, and sent me this note and pictures.

Good morning Jeff,
First water test results are fantastic. With 4 people in the boat handling was excellent, and top speed was 34mph. With 2 people in the boat top speed was 37mph, and handing was very good.

Those tests were on a lake, so I took it to the Chemung river, where I intend to run the boat most. Beautiful. At speed, 4 inches of water is no problem. I definitely need to be moving forward at good speed for that depth, if I'm not, the jet pump sucks the rocks up from the bottom of the river. At speed, this is not a problem.

I'm moving forward with the glassing, and the interior of the boat now that I know the concept is working.

Thanks again for the plans,
Jason Thompson

Boat Building Photos

Please don't be embarrassed to send in photos of your projects. I get a lot of emails from people who tell me about their build but never send any pictures. I'd love to see them, as would all of the other people who are either building a boat or thinking about it. They need all the encouragement they can get.

I believe in offering you all the information you need to learn more about how to build a boat. That's why I offer free videos, free ebooks, and free reports. There's even some free plans available to isiders and some seminars I've delivered. To join, just click below:
